This is a story about what happens when you go camping without the right camping gear. My family lived in a City nestled against the mountains in Colorado. Colorado has some of the most beautiful country in the United States. The rivers are clear, cold and full of trout. The air is clean and the forest is full of wild life. You will almost always see some elk, deer, bald eagles, and even buffalo. The Colorado Mountains truly are God’s footstool.

My family and I decided on a whim we would take off and go camping somewhere in the mountains. We had a tent and a camping stove. We thought we were all set. We packed the tent and stove and took some blankets and a few pillows. We packed an ice cooler with some hotdogs and a few steaks and drinks. Off we went. We drove up through the mountain pass and into the wilderness. It was wonderful. The forest was so beautiful. We drove for a couple of hours and turned down a State Park road along an awesome river.
